Intent and Purpose of the Visual Arts Academic Standards: This session shares how to navigate the Visual Arts standards information on the CDE website as well as highlights the intent, purpose statements, definitions, and academic vocabulary foundational in understanding the Visual Arts Standards.
Understanding the Design: Deep Reading of the CAS in Visual Arts: This video explains the layout and design of the CAS in Visual Arts as well as how to read the elements of the standards document to best support instruction.
Disciplinary Literacy in the Visual Arts Standards: This session defines disciplinary literacy and how it is evident in the Colorado Academic Standards in Visual Art. Educators can explore ways literacy authentically is embedded in the Visual Arts and can be used to support instruction.
High Impact Strategies of the Visual Arts Standards: This session explores research-based foundational shifts in Visual Arts education that informed the 2020 standards and the high-impact instructional strategies associated that may positively impact an educator's choices in curriculum and instruction.
Example Assessment of the Visual Arts Colorado Academic Standards: This video examines how to identify concepts, knowledge, and skills within the Colorado Academic Standards in Visual Arts and a few examples of how they could be assessed within an educator's choice of curriculum and instruction.
