Get Prepared (15 to 30 minutes):

Gather materials, copies, or computers. Review the lesson.

Think: Pre-Lesson Knowledge Check! (15 to 20 minutes):

Before the lesson, the students are doing independent work on the chocolate chip activity, and the facilitator is circulating and reviewing their answers.

Model & Think: Math Lesson (1 hour):

The Facilitator should review the Pre-Lesson Knowledge Check results that the students completed to get a sense of what they know and don’t know. The facilitator could do this before the lesson, or as the students do the ruler warm-up.

Step 4

Connect: Closing the Lesson (10 minutes):

Time to celebrate success, review missed skills, and provide enrichment activities through real-world application ideas.
