The READ Act requires the department to identify quality reading instructional programs and professional development programs for use by local education agencies. This page includes links to providers and programs that have been identified through a review process.
Delayed Review Process Due to COVID-19: During the Spring of 2020 CDE engaged in a review of the following: core, intervention and supplemental instructional programs. The Spring 2020 review process has been interrupted due to COVID-19. At this time CDE has reviewed about 90 percent of the programs submitted.
All English core programs have been reviewed and are reflected on the provided list, this includes the appeal window. Vendors who submitted programs that have been reviewed and not approved were notified and have been provided information regarding the appeal process (CCE 301-92, 11.02). The remaining programs to be reviewed are primarily a Spanish language programs requiring bilingual reviewers which may impact our review time frame.
