Adjunct Instructor Authorization Overview
An adjunct instructor is an expert or specialist in a content area--with or without formal educator training--who has been requested by a Colorado school district, BOCES or charter/facility school to provide students highly specialized academic enrichment in the area of expertise.
Requirements:
- Must be requested by an employing school district
- Must hold a bachelor's or higher degree in the content area OR have been employed for five years in the area of specialization.
CDE also issues adjunct instructor authorizations for individuals seeking a Native American Language and Culture Instruction Authorization.
The adjunct instructor authorization is valid for 3 years from the date of issue. Please review the application checklist for additional information.
