Important Moodle Information

CDE School Nutrition is moving all online trainings to a new platform. To access the online trainings and receive professional standards credit, you need to register for a FREE Moodle account. Registration only takes a few seconds to complete. Once you have submitted your registration, our office will create your account. You will receive an email to confirm your Moodle account and then you will be able to access the trainings. Colorado Department of Education Professional Development


The School Nutrition Unit offers online, in-person and webinar trainings to increase school nutrition professionals’ skills and knowledge in operating child nutrition programs. These trainings provide USDA Professional Standards hours and count as Continuing Education Units (CEU) for the School Nutrition Specialist (SNS) Credential. On the Menu Monthly Calls

  • Join the Oct. call- Thursday, Oct. 28, from 2 to 3 p.m.
    • Register for the October On the Menu Call
    • This call will cover social media and food photography to market your nutrition programs and connect with students and their families. CDE's Allison Butler and Mary Rochelle, Programs, Grants & Communication Manager at Boulder Valley School District will share how to positively promote your programs using different platforms. They will also provide tips and tricks on how to take better pictures of your meals using just a smartphone. 
  • Join the Nov. call- Thursday Nov. 18, from 2 to 3 p.m. *please note the date change of the Nov. call due to Thanksgiving holiday*
    • Register for the Nov. On the Menu Call
    • This call will be focused on support and resources related to supply chain issues. We plan to include small group discussions and showcase sponsor best practices. 
  • General Information
    • Typically held the fourth Thursday of each month from 2 to 3 p.m.
    • Topics are determined monthly based on School Food Authority/sponsor requests
    • Complete this online form to submit topics for discussion

CDE School Nutrition offers training and technical assistance outside of announced and regional trainings. Complete and submit the Training and Technical Assistance Request Form and School Nutrition staff will follow-up with your request.
