Listening Tour Feedback Final Report
Listening Tour Feedback by Event Location
Thank you to the hundreds of educators, parents, and students who took the time to attend and provide feedback at the ESSA listening tour events, listening tour webinar, and through our ESSA blog and email inbox. We've completed our ESSA Listening Tour and have received and compiled the feedback from each stop. From the links below, you will be able to access the information compiled from each ESSA Listening Tour site. Please note: Remarks were captured verbatim. All spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc. were transcribed exactly as they appeared on the written feedback forms. If the exact same comment was made, an asterisk was placed on the end of the comment to show how many times it was stated.

During May and June of 2016, education officials embarked on a statewide ESSA listening tour to gather feedback.
Teams presented a general overview of ESSA and then facilitated a community discussion. Two sessions were held at each location, one in the early afternoon and another after work for parents, teachers and community members. Feedback from the ESSA listening events has been compiled and will be used by ESSA working group committees to inform the state’s plan. The goal is to develop a Colorado ESSA plan that is clearly understood and can be supported by all. Ultimately, a plan approved by the Colorado State Board of Education will be presented to the U.S. Department of Education.
