Resources for District/BOCES Leaders

District and BOCES leaders have an essential responsibility in creating a meaningful evaluation process for licensed personnel including teachers, special services providers (SSPs), and principals. Students have the greatest chance to succeed when educators receive support to continuously grow as professionals by improving their skills and knowledge.

Flexibilities exist and many decisions related to implementing educator evaluation systems are intentionally designed to be decided at the local level by school districts/BOCES. To aid district/BOCES leaders in their understanding and implementation of evaluation processes in support of the ongoing development of educators and overall student success, the Educator Effectiveness Office has developed a range of resources.
