Learning Cohorts: Bilingual Leadership
Championing Biliteracy: Educational Leadership in a Multilingual World
Are you leading efforts to support bilingual and multilingual learners in your schools? Looking for ways to expand programs like the Seal of Biliteracy and build leadership capacity for multilingual education?
This cohort offers practical tools and peer collaboration to strengthen bilingual education, grow multilingual leadership, and design systems that recognize and elevate language as an asset for students, families, and communities. Together, we’ll focus on strategies to lead bilingual education, implement the Seal of Biliteracy, and build strong partnerships to support language development and long-term student success.
Our Approach | Lead with Language. Build with Purpose.
Through short-cycle goal setting, expert presentations, collaborative problem-solving, and site visits to schools, participants will examine current practices, explore root causes, and implement strategies for lasting improvement.
Learning Cohort Facilitators
The District Improvement Strategy Office Team and cross-office partners from the Colorado Department of Education.
Participants
We welcome district and school leaders who are advancing multilingual education from small rural schools to large urban systems.
Common Roles Include:
- District leaders: Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, Executive Directors, Program Directors, and CLDE Coordinators
- School leaders: Principals, Assistant Principals, CLDE Coordinators, and instructional leadership team members
While we encourage teams of two or more to apply (collaborative learning strengthens outcomes), solo participants from smaller systems are equally valued. We ask that district and school supervisors are aware of and supportive of participation to ensure alignment and maximize impact.
