II. Courses
At this time, there are four courses attached to the ABEA.
The courses are:
- EDU-131 (or EDU 1311 for credit) - Introduction to Adult Education
- EDU-132 (or EDU 1321 for credit) - Planning and Delivering Instruction to Adult Learners
- EDU-133 (or EDU 1331 for credit) - Teaching Adult Basic Education (ABE)/Adult Secondary Education (ASE)
- EDU-134 (or EDU 1341 for credit) - Teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) to Adults
The competencies in these courses also serve as the backbone of the ABEA Portfolio Process.
If you are a grant recipient and interested in taking the courses with CDE for zero credit, please connect with your program's Professional Learning Coordinator.
If you are not a grant recipient or are interested in earning post-secondary college credit, please connect with your local community college.
Note: The ABEA is required for Adult Education and Family Literacy Act (AEFLA) educators and is highly encouraged for Adult Education and Literacy Act (AELA) educators.
