Definition

Advising students about disability support service

Process of sharing information with students about disability support services and the benefits of accessing accommodations and support services as needed. Student must have documented disability to access services


Career & Technical Education (CTE)

Instructional programs or courses that focus on the skills required for a particular job function or trade.


Career Development and Advising

Assists students in choosing a career or profession and making employment or training decisions.


Career Night

An event that give students and employers a chance to meet one another, establish professional relationships, and discus potential job and/or internship opportunities.


College Tours

Also called a campus tour, is a tour of a college or university’s campus. Campus tours are usually free, as they promote the institution and encourage prospective students to attend the school.


Counseling on postsecondary education opportunities

Provides students the maximum flexibility in the career decision making process in the early phases of Post-secondary Education planning. This includes the student gaining an awareness of the wide range of career pathway options and labor market realities and projections, including those that require varying degrees of education and training.


Individual Career and Academic Planning

Academic planning is the process of setting educational goals and determining the best to meet them. Additionally, career planning provides students a roadmap that will take them from Point A (choosing an occupation) to Point B (getting a job and advancing in their career). The processes togethers, helps student reach their career goals


Job Fairs

An event where employers offer information about their companies to people who are looking for jobs. 


Special education and counseling services

Facilitates academic and intellectual growth and improvement in a student’s ability to function in social, emotional and behavior capacities.
