Gail Lott will hosts monthly Transition Talks via Zoom on a variety of topics related to effective secondary transition planning.

Assisting Students with Disabilities to Develop a Positive Disability Identity:

This session is aimed to deepen the conversation around disability identity beyond labels, diagnosis and breaking away from stigma. Together we will examine disability etiquette and language, to provide educators, youth, and family members with tools to build a positive disability identity. Through sharing their lived experience, panelists will talk about their disability pride. This workshop will emphasize a strengths-based approach and set high expectations to help students succeed in their transition into adulthood. This session will be provided by Rosemary McDonnell-Horita, Youth Transitions Coordinator, and a group of panelists from Atlantis Community, Inc.
