On the last day of July, about 125 school and district leaders from across the state, including 65 principals from Boulder Valley School District,  gathered at BVSD for a professional learning session on effective language strategies for multilingual learners. The session was organized by CDE's Office of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education and funded through remaining ESSER III funds.

The training was open to educators throughout Colorado and led by Dr. Carol Salva of Seidlitz Education, an accomplished author of books on multilingual learners and a blog on teaching newcomers. Her topic was the "7 Steps to a Language-Rich Interactive Classroom."
