Loveland Classical Schools is a K-12 classical charter school entering its thirteenth year. Its focus on classical education is defined by three main areas; classical culture, classical curriculum, and classical pedagogy. Classical culture is defined by the schools? emphasis on virtuous character, and is implemented in the schools? K-12 Core Virtues program, behavioral support systems, and school curriculum. Classical curriculum is defined and implemented by the use of original sources from the … Western canon which have lasted the course of time and have been the backbone of education for two millennia. Classical pedagogy is defined and implemented by the use of the trivium, being instructional practices within the grammar, logic, and rhetoric levels of knowledge acquisition. In its first twelve years, LCS has grown from 540 students in 2011 to a full K-12 school serving over 1,000 students in Fall 2023. On the 2023 1-year SPF, LCS's K-12 score was 71.8% with Performance Plan status. On the 2023 1-year SPF, LCS's elementary school received Meets for Academic Achievement and Approaching for Academic Growth; LCS's middle school received Meets for Academic Achievement and Approaching for Academic Growth; and LCS's high school received Meets for Academic Achievement, Approaching for Academic Growth, and Exceeds for Secondary & Workforce Readiness.
