About Beattie Elementary School (0678)

A MESSAGE FROM:

Beattie Elementary School

2024-2025

Beattie Elementary is a Pre-K through 5th grade school located in mid-town Fort Collins, part of the Poudre School District (PSD). Established in 1972, Beattie recently celebrated its 50th Anniversary. The school's open floor plan, designed with minimal interior walls, fosters high levels of collaboration among students and staff, supporting a teamwork-driven learning environment. Currently, the school serves 255 Kindergarten through 5th grade students, with an additional 64 Pre-K students enrol… led in three on-site Early Childhood classes. While overall student enrollment dropped during the pandemic due to a district-wide transition to online learning, enrollment has been on the rise following the closure of the district?s virtual school, and is nearing pre-pandemic levels. Demographics & Attendance: Beattie?s diverse student population includes 44.7% of students qualifying for Free & Reduced Meals, 12.5% receiving Special Education services, 1.9% classified as English Language Learners (ELL), and 2.2% identified as Gifted and Talented. The student body also includes 25.6% Hispanic students, with a total minority enrollment of 35.6%. The school?s attendance rate, based on 2020-2021 data, stands at 91.7%, with a mobility rate of 13.7% and a truancy rate of 2%. Leadership and Collaboration: Beattie?s leadership is centered around the School Advisory Committee (SAC) and Beattie Leadership Team (BLT), which include a mix of parents, community members, administrators, and staff from every grade level and department. This collaborative leadership model ensures that all stakeholders are involved in key decision-making processes, including the development and monitoring of the School Unified Improvement Plan (SUIP). School Improvement Planning Process: The SUIP is developed through a highly collaborative process, with staff reviewing both beginning-of-the-year and end-of-the-year summative data. A root cause analysis is conducted to identify areas needing improvement, and instructional approaches are aligned with student performance data. The Beattie Leadership Team (BLT) is primarily responsible for monitoring the progress of the school improvement plan, while SAC members provide feedback and advice during the planning and review stages. Regular updates on student learning are shared with staff and SAC members, and adjustments to instructional strategies are made based on ongoing formative assessments. Progress toward the UIP?s actions and strategies is reviewed periodically throughout the year.
