About Ralston Elementary School (7238)

A MESSAGE FROM:

Ralston Elementary School

2025-2026

Ralston elementary is celebrating 150 years of serving students in the Genesee area. We are a small public elementary school with 291 students in grades K-5. We're proud of our strong community partnerships with families a business in the Golden area. Our PTA is highly supportive of Ralston raising funds each year to help us afford classroom paraprofessionals. We have a para in each of the six K-2 classrooms, a library para, a special education para, a reading intervention para, and an enrichmen… t learning para serving students with a formal GT identification. There are a few unique practices in place at Ralston that we believe make a positive impact. First, we departmentalize at grades 3-5 where one teacher at each grade provides language arts and social studies instruction and the other teacher instructs math and science. Also, we fund full-time teachers for art, music, and physical education. This means we do not share these teachers with another Jeffco school allowing them to focus on delivering great instruction for just one school. Ralston combines the digital teacher library position with the instructional coach position into a hybrid role called the innovation coach. Having one person fill both roles leads to better collaboration with classroom teachers. This also means we have one person serving our school full-time rather than two people working here part-time trying to balance the challenge of working in two schools. We're proud of our continuous academic achievement. Data from our three-year SPF shows that we earned 96.4 points out of 100. Both academic achievement and growth are strong here earning a 96.6 and 96.3 points respectively. We?re fortunate that our students have excellent attendance and student discipline events are minimal. This allows us to focus on learning and creating a positive and supportive school climate and culture.
