Fletcher Miller School is a unique academic environment for students with significant support needs (SSN). Fletcher Miller is a public school on Jeffco Public School's continuum of alternative education placements for special education. All students at Fletcher Miller work toward Extended Evidence Outcomes aligned with the general education curriculum and state standards. dition to addressing academic areas such as literacy, math, science and social studies, students experience adaptive physical education, music, and art. Because of our students' unique and complex significant support needs, intensive physical, occupational, mental health and speech therapy are provided during the school day to support access to education. School placement at Fletcher Miller is based on identified student need through the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process. Students participate in a variety of specially designed, district supported activities including adaptive physical education, boy and girl scouts, art shows and PBIS. Our campus staff work in multi-disciplinary teams which include special education teachers, para educators, nurses, speech therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, mental health providers and other itinerant special education staff to address the "whole child". To achieve this, we also partner with many community organizations including neighborhood schools, universities and colleges, and community based organizations.
