Jeffco Virtual Academy

2022-2023

Jeffco Virtual Academy has hired a dean of student engagement to help support our MTSS processes. We have a significant number of students/families who disengage from online learning and this new position will be a key component of our re-engagement efforts. Additionally, we have expanded our orientation for students and families to get to know them better and to hopefully foster closer relationships earlier in the school year. Jeffco Virtual Academy also has significant student mobility each ye… ar. This makes tracking year-over-year growth in learning a challenge. We have focused on relationships and academic performance each year and not growth over multiple years because of this. Many of our students join JVA already behind on credits toward graduation. We are expanding our career and college seminar experiences to engage more students in post-secondary opportunities and to provide some connection to life after high school to provide motivation to earn credits and get on track for graduation.
