Village High School exists to meet the diverse needs of students through interactive and innovative learning opportunities. In 2007, the school began as Academy Online, a fully online program that offered standards-based, semester-long courses that were delivered via the internet. Students could be enrolled on a primary or supplemental basis in those courses. In the fall of 2015, a new blended model was introduced as a 9th grade pilot program. up by adding an additional grade level. This program, which was called The Village @ Academy Online, continued to grow from the initial 25 students to its current enrollment of over 525 students. The Village had their first graduating class in 2019 and the same year officially changed the school name from Academy Online to Village High School. Village High School is designed as a personalized hybrid model with students working through a self-paced, competency focused curriculum online with the support of teachers and in person elective experiences. The school continues to offer a model for fully online students and currently serves a limited number of students who don't live in the area or have significant health concerns.
