Bristol Elementary School has approximately 270 students and is located on the west side of Colorado Springs, just minutes from downtown. It is a quiet neighborhood school that serves the community. Academically, it has an average of 70 on the School Performance Framework each year over the last ten years. It is also a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) school that includes general music, Violin classes for all students(K-3), band, orchestra, physical education, and visual arts. …
The staff is hardworking and focused on helping students learn and grow. Bristol was awarded the state award Center of Excellence. The school was selected to win the Colorado Succeeds Prize in STEM for state-wide performance in Math and Science. In 2022-2023, Bristol was recognized as a School of Distinction. Additionally, it is one of the few schools nationwide with a free Suzuki Violin program for grades K-3. This program allows all Kindergarten through 3rd Grade students to learn how to play the violin by attending violin class every other day. Bristol remains a highly desired school in Colorado Springs, with a choice enrollment rate of 61%. Furthermore, starting in the 2022-2023 school year, Bristol began transitioning to the Westside STEAM pathway school for the district. With the addition of a STEAM coordinator, Bristol is on the path to integrating reading and writing with science and engineering. With Violin, Band, Orchestra, and STEAM programs, all students are given opportunities to be successful and develop life long-skills to connect content with creativity.
