About Gypsum Creek Middle School (0039)

A MESSAGE FROM:

Gypsum Creek Middle School

2025-2026

Gypsum Creek Middle School values are Goal Oriented, Child Focused, Multi-Faceted, and  Safe, Secure and Supported.  For the approximately 320 students, 32 certified staff, 11 classified staff, and assorted itinerant staff, those values come through in every aspect of the school.  We consist of approximately 78.5% Minority students and 21.5% White students.   Over 55.4% of our students qualify for free and reduced lunch.  At least 63.2% of the Wolves have been English Language Learners at some p… oint, 36.4% of them are currently Non-English Proficient(NEP) or Limited English Proficient (LEP). 17.1% of our students have disabilities and about 7.4% are Gifted and Talented.  This diverse make-up and range of academic needs further illustrate how well our school community comes together to establish high expectations for achievement and especially growth. GCMS is proud to offer a Biliteracy and Dual Language Program for almost 50% of our students who desire and qualify.  This includes Spanish Language Arts and 10-50% of a DL student?s schedule in Spanish.  We also offer Project Based Learning in a variety of settings including a schoolwide, student interest driven, special two week event called ?M-Term?.  GCMS is an AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) school that practices structures and strategies that impact all students. The development of the UIP and School Based Strategic Plan happens through collaborative efforts within our Teacher Leadership Committee and district personnel.  These documents are also presented to the whole staff for feedback before a similar process is followed with the PTO/SAC.
