KSPA's Vision: Every child grows up free to create the future they want for themselves and their communities. KSPA is committed to our Black, Latinx, SWD, MLL and Indigenous students. We have a comprehensive multilingual learner program in which students experience co-teaching of social studies curriculum with dedicated language instruction. We incorporate cultural celebrations that represent our diverse populations. We plan for intensive support of our students with disabilities with intentional accommodations, modifications, pull out and push in supports. KSPA offers ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, Art, Music and PE. We have sports all year long, and clubs. We use a co-teaching model for Social Studies/ELD, Achievement First for ELA and Math and Amplify for Science. KSPA has interim assessments for ELA and math, end of module assessments for Social Studies, interim science assessments, and iReady diagnostics. We have implemented strategic social emotional learning programming and restorative practices for our students. Students are members of advisory classes. Students participate in monthly culture surveys. Students are members of clubs and sports. KSPA involves families through Cafecito (Family meetings) once a month, and Collaborative School Council meetings 4 times a year.
