About Kepner Beacon Middle School (4513)

Kepner Beacon Middle School

Kepner Beacon Middle School is an innovation and TNLI school in our 7th year committed to our students being among the highest in academic growth in the state, well-rounded in their interests and abilities, and recognized in the community for their outstanding character. Kepner Beacon opened in the 2016-17 school year with just 6th graders, and is a replica of Grant Beacon Middle School in Platte Park. The rigorous course of study that was developed originally for GBMS resulted in significant gr owth and remarkable outcomes within the first years of this new programming. In fact, as a school, Kepner Beacon students posted impressive gains throughout the years, especially on CMAS ELA and ACCESS. KBMS provides a learning environment that nurtures the whole learner, celebrating 5 specific character traits that each learner is expected to cultivate and embrace in his/her daily interactions. We offer a comprehensive experience that affords our students a wide range of enrichments and the opportunity to participate in Sports & Wellness; Literature, Arts, Culture & History; and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) courses. KBMS is a place for students that is safe, thoughtfully structured and intentionally community-minded, a multi-level learning environment where the academic, co-curricular and behavior standards are high for all students.
