Highline Academy Northeast is a free public charter school serving 580 Pre-K to 5th grade students in the Green Valley Ranch neighborhood of Denver. Our mission is to foster a diverse and equitable community of youth and adults striving together for academic, personal, and civic excellence. tations, proven instructional methods, and strong support systems. Our southeast campus (Highline Academy Southeast - HASE) opened in August 2004 serving students in kindergarten through 6th grade, and added a grade per year for the next two years until it reached full capacity as a K-8 school. Ten years later in 2014 the school opened a second campus (Highline Academy Northeast - HANE) in Green Valley Ranch. Highline believes that a well-rounded education includes a foundation of literacy, language, math, science, social studies, character education, Spanish, music, art, and physical education. We focus on character education - our REACH program (responsibility, empowerment, aspiration, citizenship, and honesty) - includes student growth and leadership, conflict resolution training, and social-emotional learning. We host two center-based programs for students with multi-intensive special needs and for autism. We have a wellness team that includes two social workers, a school counselor, a school psychologist, a behavior interventionist and a wellness teacher. We have a Model 1 Preschool Class that serves 32 students, ? of whom have special needs. Differentiated, effective instruction based on standards based assessments is the key to our academic success.
