Highline Academy Southeast is a tuition-free DPS charter school serving kindergarten through eighth grade, dedicated to fostering a diverse and equitable community of youth and adults striving together for academic, personal, and civic excellence. Guided by our vision to create inclusive excellence in public education, we meet every learner where they are and support them in discovering who they can become. to a K-8 in 2006. Highline Southeast celebrates diversity as a strength and prepares students to thrive in the diverse environments of higher education, career, and life. The school serves 586 students representing over 50 countries and speaking over 20 languages. 61% of Highline students identify as students of color, 53% of students qualify for free or reduced lunch, and 31% are multilingual learners. There is not one racial or ethnic group that makes up 50% or more of the population. At Highline Academy Southeast, students benefit from small class sizes and data-driven small group instruction within a well-rounded liberal arts education. In addition to core ELA and math, all students engage in science, social studies, Spanish, art, music, PE, and library, each week. Through strong relationships and high expectations, we inspire students to live our REACH values: Responsibility, Empowerment, Aspiration, Citizenship, and Honesty, and to REACH In for personal growth, REACH Out to serve their community, and REACH Up to achieve their best academically. Highline Academy Southeast is currently a Green school on the Colorado State School Performance Framework. Highline has been Green since the SPF was put into place with the exception of the 2013-14 school year, when it was rated Blue. In 2019, Highline Academy Southeast was the recipient of the Governor's Distinguished Improvement award for outstanding growth on CMAS. In 2020, Highline Academy Southeast was one of five school in the state, and one of fifteen charter schools in the country, awarded the National Blue Ribbon Award.
