Skyline High School is a comprehensive public high school serving grades 9 through 12, with an enrollment of approximately 1,090 students. Located in the St. Vrain Valley School District, Skyline is a diverse and academically focused institution that offers a wide range of rigorous and innovative programming designed to prepare students for postsecondary success. As of October 2024: 75% of the student population identifies as non-white 27% are classified as English Language Learners (ELL) 64% qu… alify for Free or Reduced Lunch 13.5% receive special education services Skyline High School also serves the largest population of language acquisition students at the high school level in the district. Signature Academic Programs STEM Academy ? Pre-Engineering Focus Skyline?s STEM Academy supports approximately 80 students in a structured Pre-Engineering track that emphasizes project-based learning, critical thinking, and technical skill development. Key partnerships include: A guaranteed admission agreement with the University of Colorado, College of Engineering, available to students who meet specific academic and programmatic benchmarks. A partnership with Western Colorado University (established in Fall 2020), which offers qualified students guaranteed admission into Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science. Through the Rady Merit Scholarship, students receive full funding for their first two years of college and ultimately earn a CU Boulder degree while completing coursework on Western?s campus in Gunnison, Colorado. Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) Academy Skyline houses the district?s only Visual and Performing Arts Academy, currently serving approximately 130 students. The program offers a structured pathway to certification in either Visual Arts or Performing Arts, culminating in a capstone project that demonstrates mastery beyond standard graduation requirements. P-TECH: Falcon Tech Early College Pathway Established in 2016?2017, Falcon Tech was the first P-TECH school in St. Vrain Valley Schools. In partnership with IBM and Front Range Community College (FRCC), the program allows students to earn both a high school diploma and an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Computer Science within a six-year early college model. The program is tuition-free and combines academic coursework with real-world industry mentorship and internship opportunities. Advanced Placement Capstone Diploma Skyline offers the AP Capstone Diploma, a College Board-endorsed program that emphasizes research, academic writing, public presentation, and critical inquiry. This advanced academic pathway replaced Skyline?s previous Honors Certification beginning in the 2018?2019 school year. Concurrent Enrollment In collaboration with Front Range Community College, Skyline began offering concurrent enrollment opportunities in the Music and Visual Arts Departments in the 2023?2024 school year. These dual-enrollment courses allow students to earn both high school and college credit while completing advanced arts coursework.
