McClave is a rural district with 262 students preschool through twelfth grade. We run a four day school week, and just under 50% of our students qualify for free and reduced lunch. Fifty-two percent of our students travel from out of district boundaries to attend school here. The 21st-Century Community Learning grant started after school tutoring four days a week and additional enrichment activities throughout the year, which we have continued to help bridge the gap for students and families. other focus the last few years is literacy. We are currently implementing a new, scientifically based reading program which is now aligned kindergarten through eighth grade. Most importantly, our district holds true to our four core values of excellence, honesty, integrity, and respect. We know none of these programs or curriculums would be possible without great teachers who work daily not only on reading, writing and math, but on educating the whole child. Maintaining the highest expectations from day one, our small class-size allows for nurturing relationships so that our students feel safe, loved and appreciated, allowing them the space to learn and grow.
