About Bennett High School (0775)

A MESSAGE FROM:

Bennett High School

2025-2026

Bennett High School is a rural school located east of Aurora about 25 miles, and serves about 416 students. The Town of Bennett is described as a growing community on the western edge of the eastern plains of Colorado. BHS is seeing growth due to the expansion of Denver and its surrounding areas. BHS anticipates more, and rapid growth as developers set their sights on building affordable ''young family'' housing in the near future. This has played a large roll in the district and high school's i… dentity and planning as we move forward. BHS Demographics: 166 (40%) students on Free and Reduced Lunch- this is an increase of 21% over two years, 40 (10.0%) students with IEP's, 96 (23%) ELL students 278 (67%) Minority students . Bennett High School continues to implement ALEKS (for Math), Achieve 3000 (for English), and iReady (both disciplines) to data monitor in both subject areas to better meet student needs. We are meeting in department teams bi-weekly to identify patterns, strengths and weaknesses. ALEKS is done weekly in Math while Achieve 3000 is implemented in English (4 lessons per month) as well as Social Studies (2 lessons per month) and Science classes (2 lessons per month). Bennett High School has seven Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs: Welding, Construction, Agriculture, Business, Wildland Fire, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Approximately 344 students (83%) participate in one or more of our CTE offerings. To develop the UIP, Administration started the process by analyzing the appropriate data (PSAT 8/9, PSAT, CMAS, SAT, iReady, Achieve 300, ALEKS, etc.) and tried to identify patterns, strengths and weaknesses. Once the initial analyzing was done, administration turned to building leadership teams, SAC, DAC, our parent community members (stakeholders), and the district administration to get feedback on the UIP
