About Coronado Hills Elementary School (1878)

A MESSAGE FROM:

Coronado Hills Elementary School

2025-2026

Coronado Hills Elementary, located in Thornton, Colorado, is committed to fostering high levels of academic growth and social-emotional growth for all students. As we engage in the Unified Improvement Planning (UIP) process, our priorities are grounded in strengthening core instruction, providing responsive interventions, and cultivating a positive, supportive learning environment. Our primary instructional focus is on strengthening Tier One instruction through the consistent use of the Gradual … Release of Responsibility (GRR) model , ensuring students receive clear modeling, guided practice, and opportunities for independent application of skills. This foundation allows us to address the diverse learning needs of our students while maintaining high expectations across grade levels. To support students who require additional academic assistance, we implement Tier Two interventions targeted to specific skill gaps and monitored through progress data. These interventions allow us to provide timely, research-based support aligned to our core curriculum. In addition, Coronado Hills is actively analyzing and refining our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework . By examining current implementation data, we aim to ensure that expectations, recognition systems, and restorative practices consistently support student behavior and school culture. Our goal is to strengthen alignment between academic and behavioral supports, creating a safe, inclusive, and structured environment for all learners. Through these efforts, Coronado Hills Elementary continues to align with the Colorado Department of Education?s vision for equitable outcomes and continuous improvement, ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed.
