The Exceptional Student Services Unit at CDE plans conferences throughout the year that are family-centered and designed to offer support, information, and education to parents and professionals who are Colorado residents. Join us for a Parents Encouraging Parents (PEP) conference in 2024!

NOTE: As of Thursday, 12/7/2023, the January 2024 conference was full. As of Monday, 01/08/2024, the May 2024 conference was full. If you register for either conference, you name will be placed on a wait list and you will be offered an opening if there is a cancellation. If there are no cancellations for either January 2024 or May 2024, your name will be added to the waitlist for the 2024-2025 PEP year, and you will be notified when the dates, locations, and registration are available for 2024-2025. Currently, there are still openings for the April 2024 virtual PEP conference in Spanish. The registration link is below.

Please note on the application important changes as of October 2023 to the in-person PEP conferences:

  • In-person PEP conferences will now be on a Friday and Saturday, rather than on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
  • Lodging will be paid for by the Colorado Department of Education if a participant's commute is more than 50 miles to the hotel traveling one way (rather than 35 miles).
  • Certificates will be issued for 15 hours for completing an in-person PEP conference in its entirety (rather than for 18 hours).
