COVID-19 resources for special education

Join us for the 13th Annual Leadership Institute! The Exceptional Student Services Secondary Transition Team is hosting a virtual Transition Leadership Institute June 10-12, 2020! The theme for the upcoming institute is “Together, let’s reach new heights!”

The institute provides AU teams and their key partners access to content-rich learning sessions to build knowledge of effective secondary transition practices. There will be two content sessions each morning and a team planning session each afternoon. Content sessions are open to all registrants. Team planning sessions are open to team members only. Teams will be provided collaborative team planning opportunities to strategically plan for the implementation of effective practices that lead to successful post-school outcomes for student with disabilities.

Common Questions

What do I do if I am not a part of a team?

If you are not a part of a team, please indicate that when you register, answer the question “are you a member of a team”, provide your name, role, email address, and select the content sessions that you would like to register for. 

What if I am part of a team?

Team leads are responsible for registering all team members.  Team leads, please indicate whether you plan to attend the pre-institute session on June 10th that focuses on navigating the transition program tool.  We also need to know which sessions team members are planning to attend.  Only individuals who are part of the team will attend team planning sessions.  All teams will be assigned to a Zoom room for team planning sessions.  CDE and NTACT staff will be available to answer questions during your team planning time.  Therefore, it is important that we know how many teams are planning to attend.

Attendance and PD credit

We are tracking attendance to sessions in order to award PD credit.
