Jennifer Chappell (Carter)

Biography

Jennifer Chappell (Carter) has been an educator for over fifteen years. She has worked in private, public, and charter schools in various capacities throughout her career. The majority of her career was spent as a high school language arts instructor. She became the Assistant Director of Southwest Open School, a charter school, (also a designated AEC) in 2009 and worked with the original workgroups and committee on the establishment of the AEC accountability frameworks. In the 2012 school year, she become the Director of Southwest Open School and worked with her staff and accountability committee to establish goals and strategies to move the school off of Priority Improvement. In the 2013-14 school year, Southwest Open School achieved Improvement status.
